Tips for your physician visit:
- Please bring a photo ID
- Please print and complete the 8 page new patient packet prior to your appointment and bring all documents to your visit. If you are unable to provide completed packet at check-in, your appointment will be subject to re-scheduling and also a $100 fee for same day cancellation.
- Please bring your valid insurance card
- Please arrive 30 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment time in order to complete any additional necessary paperwork.
- Our offices require a deposit of $50 in order to schedule your new patient appointment. This $50 will be applied towards your first visit copay and/or deductible. If the $50 payment results in an overpayment after your insurance process the claim, you will be refunded the amount within 30 days after insurance has completed claim payment. If you do not show for the appointment, the $50 will be applied to the $100 NO SHOW FEE and an additional $50 will be charged to complete NO SHOW fee payment.
If you are unable to make your new patient appointment please call our office to reschedule well in advance. If you call on the same day or if you do not show for your new patient appointment, the $100 no show fee will be applied to your account and payment is required prior to re-booking another new patient appointment.

Insurance and Fees
Our offices accept most insurance plans and Medicare. Participation varies as changes occur within the insurance industry. We DO NOT accept Medicaid Only patients. Please call our office before your scheduled appointment if you have any questions.
For your convenience, we will file your primary and secondary insurance claims if you provide us with the correct billing information. We ask that you pay the deductible, co-insurance, or co-payment at the time of service. We do accept Visa and MasterCard as forms of payment. Please note we are not accepting any new patients on Health Care Exchange policies, Cigna, Medicaid, and TriCare.
Refund Policy
Rheumatology Associates of South Texas will issue refunds for patient overpayments within 30 days. In the event of an over-payment, we will refund you and/or the party of whom has made the over-payment. Please allow a minimum of 30 days from the date of discovery of an over-payment for a refund to be processed. Refunds will be mailed to address on file.
