Everett H. Allen, MD
Dr. Allen was born in Dallas TX. He attended Austin College in Sherman, TX where he graduated Summa Cum Laude in 1992. He was a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society at the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio where he received his medical degree in 1996. He completed his internal medicine internship and residency at Oregon Health Sciences University in Portland, Oregon. He stayed in Portland for his rheumatology fellowship before moving back to San Antonio in 2001 with his wife and two children. He has been in private practice in San Antonio since 2001.
Dr. Allen is board certified in Rheumatology since 1999. He is a fellow member of the American College of Rheumatology and a member of the Bexar County Medical Society as well as the Texas Medical Association. He has maintained a connection with the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio as Clinical Assistant Professor in the department of Internal Medicine. He is also Voluntary Faculty at Christus Santa Rosa Residency Program. He has been named “Texas Super Doctor” by Texas Monthly from 2004 through 2009, “San Antonio’s Top Doctors” by Scene in SA Magazine 2005 through 2009, and “Best Doctor – Rheumatology” 2009- 2010 by San Antonio Magazine.
Kevin J. Kempf, MD
Dr. Kempf was born and raised in San Antonio, TX and attended Churchill High School. He graduated from Duke University with a B.S. in Psychology in 1986. He then attended Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX and graduated in the top 15% in 1991. He was awarded a naval scholarship and entered the U.S. Navy in 1991. He completed his internal medicine internship at Naval Medical Center San Diego (NMCSD). After internship, he served as a General Medical Officer and a Naval Flight Surgeon.
After his operational tours, he finished his residency at NMCSD. While there, he received the Aequanimitas Award and was selected Chief of Residents. He completed his rheumatology fellowship at Scripps Clinic and Research Institute in La Jolla, CA in 2000. While there, he was selected as the Chief Fellow and received the Tom Waltz Teaching Award. After this, he served as the Division Head of Rheumatology at NMCSD. During this time, he became certified as a medical acupuncturist and remains very interested in complementary, alternative and integrative medicine.
After 11 years of military service, Dr. Kempf returned to San Antonio with his wife and 2 children. He has been in private practice since 2002. He is board certified in Rheumatology and is a fellow member of the American College of Rheumatology and the American College of Physicians. He is a member of the Bexar County Medical Society, Texas Medical Association and the International Society of Clinical Densitometry. He is also Voluntary Faculty at Christus Santa Rosa Residency Program. He is a regular speaker and educator for community groups and physicians on rheumatology topics. He was named a “Texas Super Doctor” by Texas Monthly in 2004 through 2009 and “San Antonio’s Top Doctors” by Scene in SA Magazine 2005 through 2009.
Thomas A. Rennie, MD
Dr. Rennie was born and raised in Ponca City, OK. He attended the University of Oklahoma where, based upon his academic achievement, he was selected as a member of the Golden Key National Honor Society. He received his medical degree in 1994 from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences F. Edward Hébert School of Medicine in Bethesda, MD. He completed his Internal Medicine internship and residency at Fitzsimons Army Medical Center in Aurora, CO and Eisenhower Army Medical Center in Augusta, GA. Dr. Rennie completed his Rheumatology Fellowship in 1999 at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington DC. During this time he also completed a Research Fellowship at the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research.
In 1999, Dr Rennie was assigned to Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, TX. During his assignment there, he served as the Chief of Performance Improvement and Risk Management for the Department of Medicine, Co-director of the Uveitis Clinic and Chief of the Rheumatology Service. He completed his 16 years of military service in May 2006. Although born and raised a Sooner, Dr Rennie and his family have loved living in San Antonio and now call it their home. Besides caring for his patients, Dr Rennie’s other interests include spending time with his family, Tae Kwon Do, music and all sports and outdoor activities.
Dr. Rennie has been recognizedas one of “San Antonio’s Top Doctors” by Scene in SA Magazine.
Gautam Moorjani, MD
Dr. Moorjani is a native Texan and grew up in Houston. He went to college at the University of Texas at Austin where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Microbiology. From there, he attended medical school at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, training two years in Lubbock, followed by two years in El Paso. Following his interests in Internal Medicine and the Southwest, he completed residency training in Internal Medicine at the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center. He practiced as a Hospitalist for one year before returning to train in the Rheumatology program at the University of New Mexico. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology. Research interests included pain perception in arthrocentesis and syringe procedures. His hobbies include traveling, exercising, basketball, football and spending time with his family.
